Each week, a period is reserved for Leadership training and Group Counselling. In SS1, an intensely accelerated and practical oriented teaching and learning takes place.
To further stretch the abilities of our students beyond the already accelerated curriculum, professionals in mathematics and science are engaged to visit the school and interact with the students with clear cut strategy to expand the scope of their learning and understanding of difficult concepts.
Fifth Year (Senior Secondary Two)
The well thought-out and well-balanced scheme of work of the Academy covers the whole syllabus in six terms and ends before the promotion examination at the end of SS2. Students sit for the model School Certificate Examination as the promotion examination of the year.
The fifth year is the busiest year. The students take up the leadership positions in the school because the sixth-year students are busy with their revision, and preparation for Don Bosco Certificate Examination.
Sixth Year (Senior Secondary Three)
The sixth year is the final year. At the end of the first term, students sit for the Science Proficiency Examination which consists of written and oral examination in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Studies. Distinction, Merit and Pass level certificates are awarded to qualified students. In due course, accreditation for our certificate will be sought from National and International tertiary level Institutions.
There are intense guided revision and preparation for the various external examinations that are conducted such as WAEC, NECO, Cambridge O level, JAMB and other entrance examinations to Higher Institutions of learning.
Along with the hectic academic revision programme for WAEC and NECO, students participate in seminars to prepare themselves for the tertiary Institutions. The Guidance Counsellors work with them on a one-on-one basis to prepare them to face the tertiary Educational Institutions.
